Demi Lovato is a singer-songwriter who began her career as a child actress. It was her role in Disney Channel's 2008 TV movie Camp Rock that raised the eyebrows of Hollywood Records, signing her to a recording contract shortly after. Lovato has garnered numerous awards, an MTV Video Music Award, thirteen Teen Choice Awards, five People's Choice Awards, two ALMA Awards and a Billboard Touring Award. Confident is her fifth studio album.

Packed with nothing that's remotely original, Confident is a disposable record that you'll most likely be sick of by the end of the day. Lovato does have a beautiful, powerful voice. But with the exception of “Cool for the Summer” and “Old Ways”, the rest of the songs sound like your typical regurgitated mainstream pop offerings. I mean, just check out the album's title and cover. Her music has been classified as pop-rock, but there's zero rock on the new record. It's straight up electronic pop. If you're still a fan of her previous stuff then you should absolutely love this album. Confidence is an in-your-face delivery of “meh”.
