Artist Lineup Revealed for 6th Annual Electric Forest Festival

3 February 2016

Yesterday, Electric Forest (EF) revealed the initial artist lineup for the 6th annual music and camping festival taking place June 23rd-26th, 2016 in Rothbury, Michigan. Excitement for Electric Forest has never been greater with the festival selling out earlier than ever, a mere two weeks after tickets went on sale. In line with EF’s strong community spirit, the festival surprised the EF community by inviting them to announce the 2016 lineup first.
EF2016 Lineup Invitations, each revealing one or more artists on this summer’s eagerly awaited lineup, were mailed to a handful of randomly selected ticket-holders. With mail deliveries throughout the day, new artists were continually shared on social media with the hashtag #EF2016Reveal, creating waves of excitement and a level of interaction between a festival and its fans that have never been seen before. Forest HQ followed the reveals and collected many of the posts at By 9 pm – the entire EF16 lineup had been revealed by the Electric Forest community itself.

For the 6th year in a row, Electric Forest welcomes back fan favorite The String Cheese Incident (performing 3 shows), plus your standard heavyweights Bassnectar and Major Lazer. Other acts include GRiZ, Bonobo, STS9, Greensky Bluegrass, The Disco Biscuits, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Nahko and Medicine for the People, EOTO, and Papadosio.

Curated Events, The Silent Disco talent, Discovery Project DJ contest, and additional artists are still to be announced.

Although the lineup seems to have more bands than before, the overwhelming amount of electronic acts is always a bit dissatisfying especially due to the type of crowds involved in the EDM community. Nevertheless, Double JJ Ranch is our home away from home and as long as SCI keeps coming back, we'll be there.
