Breakthrough ThreeSixEight/Motown/Capitol artist Chaz French released one of the most politically charged, cognitive, honest, and artistic hip-hop projects of the summer with the release of his debut album True Colors this past July. The critically acclaimed album helped solidify Chaz French as a true one to watch and was heavily supported by fellow artists/musicians such as Pusha T, Curren$y, Wale, BJ The Chicago, and Shy Glizzy who is featured in Chaz’s forthcoming music video for his buzzing single “Hol’ Up.” Watch behind-the-scenes footage from the music video, which shows a blue-haired Chaz and rapper Shy Glizzy having the time of their lives on set surrounded by beautiful women, spending money printed with Chaz’s face, and cruising the Georgetown streets in a white Lamborghini. Stay tuned to Chaz’s socials for the release date of the full music video.
In addition to the release of the behind-the-scenes footage of “Hol’ Up,” Chaz also announces the “Never Had Sh!t Tour” with J.I.D., Earthgang, and Lute. The 15-city tour will make stops in Toronto, Chicago, New York, Miami, Atlanta, and Chaz’s hometown of Washington, D.C. starting on November 2nd and wrapping on November 21st. In the interim, Chaz will also be performing at a few festivals this fall including A3C Festival in Atlanta on October 7, Rolling Loud (Bay Area) on October 21-22 and Rolling Loud (Southern California) on December 16-17. ABOUT CHAZ FRENCH
Transparent and often unapologetic about his past, Chaz French's lyrics to his vibey music are inspired by his own life experiences. He delivers his art in its purest form and people have gravitated to his honest lyrics throughout his career. Born in D.C. and raised in Maryland, French describes himself as a survivor having experienced an almost fatal car accident and homelessness, often crediting those traumatic experiences to his tenaciousness. Chaz first burst onto the scene with the release of his Billboard charting EP, These Things Take Time. Earlier this year, Chaz released his critically acclaimed debut album True Colors which boasted collaborations with BJ The Chicago Kid, Phil Ade, Shy Glizzy, Curren$y, Casey Veggies and more. With the release of True Colors, Chaz positioned himself as one of the most promising young artists in hip-hop. Watch the first single off the album “Way Out” music video here. Chaz’s enigmatic stage presence has also earned him festival routing/spot dates around the country including a successful run at SXSW in Austin this year, Rolling Loud this summer, Broccoli City Fest, a guest spot on Wale’s The Shine Tour, Break The Internet Festival, and most recently the “Never Had Sh!t Tour” with J.I.D., EarthGang, and Lute. 2017 was a major year for Chaz, but he’s only just getting started.
