Plants and Animals is a band from Montreal, Canada that formed in 2003. Members include Warren Spicer (guitar, vocals), Nic Basque (guitar, bass, keyboards, vocals) and Matthew Woodley (drums). Waltzed in from the Rumbling is their fourth studio album release.

Plants and Animals showed promise with their 2008 debut release Parc Avenue, but the albums that followed, 2010's La La Land and 2012's The End of That never seemed to click like the first record. Their latest effort, Waltzed in from the Rumbling, finds the band in a more creative space. It's easily their best work since Parc Avenue, perhaps even coming across sounding slightly better. The mix of string instruments and female harmonies are a nice touch. I would describe the music as indie rock with a whiff of experimental rock and chamber pop. Laid-back and well-executed, Waltzed in from the Rumbling is deep and entertaining. It may not wow you from the get go, but it definitely gets better with each listen. Standout tracks include "No Worries Gonna Find Us,"So Many Nights," Je Voulais Te Dire" and "Off The Water."
