With new year’s come new beginnings. For James Linck his new year starts with a journey westward to California. But before his travels commence, he will providing Detroit with a farewell performance for the ages.
Friday January 13th at El Club James Linck will say good bye to Detroit with the help of Cousin Mouth, Jaws That Bite, Illingsworth, and Eddie Logix (DJ Set).
James Linck: Wistful nostalgia, of the vein innate to many millennials, is the mood pervading from Detroit’s resident alt-R&B crooner James Linck. The singer's plaintive falsetto has become the subject of conversation in many Detroit music circles.
Cousin Mouth: Electronic-RNB group from Detroit comprised of lead singer and guitar player Alex Burns and producer-instrumentalist Lexi. The origins of their musical expression are widely unknown, though some have called them Alien-RNB. Look out for their debut full-length album “Medusa,” coproduced and engineered with Eddie Logix at Assemble Sound. Their sound is simultaneously of this world and of the cosmos, like a shooting star caught in the canopy of a rainforest.
Jaws That Bite: Channeling sounds from outer space, Jaws that Bite aka Mike D Sabatini infuses multiple grenes to create a unique audible experience. From down tempo to drum and bass, from hiphop to rock and roll, everyone can find something they like in his music.
Illingsworth: Illingsworth has been working at his craft since 1999. He has had the opportunity to work with such artists as The Illiance, Detroit CYDI, Jay Dun, Nametag, Sene, Fresh Daily, Tasherre, Tree City, Blake Eerie, SuperSci of Sweden, Numb, Erik L, Stray, Stryfe, Nic Notion, Code Halo, Smoke, Emir Lye, Paradox, Spec-Illest, Reo Pagan, A1 Mack, Marc Byrd, Kool AD, Open Mike Eagle, Cold Men Young, SelfSays, and more.
Eddie Logix: BLKSHRK, Mega Powers, Sleepless Inn, MidCoast Most, Progress Report, #CoOwnaz
